Padmanabhapuram Palace

It is one of the top ten ranked palaces in the world. Dating back to 17th century, this palace is mostly made of wood which showcase the traditional architectural style of Kerala. Kanyakumari Beach

Located at the southernmost tip of Indian Peninsula, the beach is well known for the amazing sights of sun rise and sun set especially during the full moon days in April which is called Chaitrapurnima. Vivekananda Rock Memorial

This memorial is dedicated to Swami Vivekananda which was built on a rock amidst the sea between 1963 and 1970. It is the place where Swami Vivekananda meditated and gained enlightment. It is made of red and blue granite. It consists of two main structures, Vivekananda Mandapam and Shripada Mandapam. It remains open every day for the visitors and you can simply reach there by ferry services.

Udaigiri Fort

This ancient fort which is said to be built around 1600 as a defence fort is a popular tourist spot in Kanyakumari. It was also known as De Lannoy’s Fort as the Dutch General had occupied the fort in the 18th century. Till today, the fort houses the tombs of De Lannoy, his wife and son. Fort of historical importance, it has also has a bio-diversity park for the tourists.

Thiruvalluvar Statue

It is a 133 feet tall statue which was built in 2000 atop an island to commemorate Thiruvalluvar, a well known ancient Tamil Saint. It is located near the confluence of the Arabian Sea, Bay of Bengal and India Ocean. Every month, thousands of tourists come here to admire the unique architectural magnificence.

Gandhi Memorial

Also known by the name Gandhi Mandapam, this memorial is dedicated to Mahatma Gandhi, the Father of the Nation. It is this place where his ashes were kept before immersion. Resembling a temple in Orissa, its central structure is 79 feet high which represents his age at the time of his death.
