Junagarh Fort – this is a magnificent fort which was constructed by Raja Rai Singh in the year 1593. It is believed that crocodiles were bred in the
moat that surrounded this fort for extra security. This fort is a fine combination of Mughal, Gujrati and Rajput style of architecture. It has a picturesque courtyard and many other structures like Anup Mahal, Chandra Mahal and Hawa Mahal.

Lalgarh Palace

this place was built in the year 1902 by Maharaja Ganga Singh in memory of his father Maharaja Lal Singh Ji. It is made of red sandstone and is an impressive structure and gives a brilliant example of the glorious history of the rulers of this region. It is a blend of Mughal, Rajput and European architecture and has massive lawns, library, card rooms, billiards room and many other structures. It would be a delight to visit this place.

Gajner Palace

this palace is located by the side of a lake and was constructed by Maharaja Ganga Singh Ji. It was used as a hunting retreat by the royal family and is made of red sandstone. This is a stunning example of Rajput architecture and is surrounded by a thick forest. From here you will get to see a lot of migratory birds and other wild animals.

Gajner Wildlife Sanctuary

this sanctuary is located amidst a beautiful scenic landscape and is home to some unique plants and animals. Ganga Singh Museum

The Skybird waterpark is located at a distance of about 8 kilometers from the town and is known to be the ultimate destination to cool off, have fun, relax and unwind whilst beating the heat. This particular water park which was established in the year 1999 as a part of the Ess EII Entertainments is also known to be the largest such park in Western Rajasthan. Being a great place to beat the scorching heat, this place is the favorite haunt of both locals as well as tourists.

Visiting Lalgarh Palace-

this is one of the most visited monuments in all of Bikaner owing to its great history as well as design. This particular colossal monument was built by the erstwhile ruler of Bikaner known as Maharaja Ganga Singh in the memory of his late father. The palace was designed by Sir Swinton Jacob who fused three different types of architectural magnificence namely Mughal, Rajput and European to create the structure that you see standing today. The uniqueness of the art work displayed here is that of the lattice work and filigree etched in sandstone. The palace is open to visitors during 10 am and 5 pm. There is an entry fee charged which is Rs. 10 for Indian national and Rs. 20 for foreign nationals.

National Camel Research Centre-

there aren’t many centers such as these in India so when you are here do take up this fine opportunity to get to know these gentle creatures at a more personal level. The center is also Asia’s largest camel farm and offers a great insight into camel behaviors, training and rearing. One can fondle baby camels, go for camel rides and visit the in house camel museum. You can also try camel products such as camel milk, whipped camel milk called as lassi, skimmed milk of camel etc. This particular center is located at a distance of about 8 kilometers from the city towards the eastern side. The opening and closing time of this center is between 2 pm to 6pm. There is also an entrance fee attached to it which is a mere Rs.10, the rides and guided tours have extra charges levied on them.
